One Day @ UBC

Saturdays, January through April, 9:30am-4pm; UBC Point Grey. $85

Discover something you’ve always wanted to know by joining one or more of these one-day courses taught by UBC professors and other experts. Small class sizes ensure ample opportunities for discussion with the instructor and other adult learners. Upcoming topics range from King Arthur to modern drama, from the science and psychology of dreams to Egyptian hieroglyphs, and more.


A World of Languages

Nine-week evening or Saturday courses starting the week of January 23; UBC Point Grey. $315.

Develop conversational fluency in another language by taking a conversational language course in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Mandarin or one of 16 other languages, including American Sign Language. Advanced level courses are available in French, Spanish, Korean, or Mandarin translation and interpreting. Online courses offered include, Latin, Reading and Writing French or Spanish, and Chinese Translation for Business.


Become your own Chef

Courses start in January, February and March. UBC Point Grey. Five- week course: $525, Four-week course: $450. Fee includes course materials, chef’s apron and meals.

Learn how to create the signature dishes of French Provençal cuisine or traditional Italian cuisine. Join expert culinary chef Eric Arrouzé in these hands-on classes that explore a variety of representative recipes and end with a delicious multi-course meal.


Wellness at Work: A Mindfulness Approach

Two Saturdays, February 11-18, 9am-12pm; UBC Robson Square. $135+tax

Mindfulness involves paying non-judgmental attention to what is happening in your inner and outer environment and can be a valuable tool in helping you deal with workplace stress. Learn mindfulness practices to help you pause, centre and nourish yourself at work.
