Alumni Discount One Day @ UBC

Saturdays, January through April, 9:30am-4pm; UBC Point Grey. $50 (reduced course fee for UBC Alumni ACard holders; regular fee $75)

Discover something you’ve always wanted to know by joining one or more of these single-day courses taught by UBC professors and other experts at the UBC Point Grey campus. Small class sizes ensure ample opportunities for discussion with the instructor and other adult students. Upcoming topics range from how dogs think and the effect of hormones on health, to contemporary Canadian North and cinematic science fiction.

Project Management for Tomorrow’s Leaders

Part-time program starts May 3, 2013, online, and in-class at UBC Robson Square; $2,595 (save $400 with early bird registration before April 8, 2013)

Geared to young professionals and recent university graduates, this blended (in-class and online) six week, part-time program provides you with foundational knowledge and applied project management skills. Learn to define project success, and develop skills in project planning and communications including how to organize a team meeting, plan a project, schedule with Microsoft Project®, and pitch and present your plan to stakeholders.

A World of Languages

Courses starting in April and May; UBC Point Grey and UBC Robson Square. $315 to $325

Develop fluency in a relaxed atmosphere with a conversational language course in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Mandarin or one of 16 other languages, including American Sign Language. Advanced level courses are available in French, Spanish, Korean or Mandarin translation and interpreting. We also offer online courses in Latin, Reading and Writing French or Spanish, and Chinese Translation for Business.

EQ for Smart Leadership

Friday, May 31, 9am-4pm; UBC Robson Square. $195+tax

Using Emotional Intelligence as a basis, find out how you can be more enlightened in your role as leader to make better decisions for yourself and your organization. Leaders at all levels benefit from this practical course, particularly those facing new career challenges and those seeking fresh approaches to stay on top of their game.

Become your own Chef

Courses starting February through June. UBC Point Grey. $370 to $525, depending on length of course. Fee includes course materials, a chef’s apron and meals

Learn the secrets to creating healthy French, Italian, Mexican, Japanese or vegetarian cuisine at home under the guidance of expert chefs. Each hands-on class explores a variety of delicious recipes, and the evening ends with a multi-course meal.
