Having the Last Word

In every issue of Trek, on the last inside page, we pose the same set of questions to well-known individuals who have a connection to UBC. Here are some highlights.

Kim Cattrall

Q: If you could invent something, what would it be?
A: Drop in therapy centres on every street corner. Needed.

Duncan McCue

Q: If a genie granted you one wish, what would it be?
A: Global Indigenous self‑determination. Make it so.

Nancy Lee

Q: What or who makes you laugh out loud?
A: Our dog Rudy, who looks like an adorable teddy bear but has the personality of Joe Pesci.

Rick Mercer

Q: Who was your childhood hero?
A: Evel Knievel was pretty high up there for a few years.

Q: What’s the most important lesson you ever learned?
A: My Dad told me “the first 50 years are the worst.”

William Gibson

Q: What would you like your epitaph to say?
A: I wouldn’t want an epitaph. They’re like tattoos for the dead.
