Local screenwriter and creative writing instructor Roslyn Muir has published her debut novel, The Chimera’s Apprentice, a middle-grade fantasy adventure book for kids 9-12 years old. After finishing the first draft of the book in 2012 as part of her master’s degree at UBC’s Creative Writing Program, she had to put it aside as her screenwriting career took off. She writes dramatic thrillers that have been broadcast on Lifetime TV in the US, Super Channel in Canada, and shown across Europe, and in Mexico. She most recently wrote on the Global/CBS TV series, Ransom, created by Frank Spotnitz (Man in the High Castle), and has a series in development with CBC.
