Lens on Life – Bosnia – Mostar

Mostar, Bosnia (2011) – Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina is probably the most war-damaged city I’ve ever visited, with the exception of the preserved ruins of Belchite in Spain. It was on the front line of fighting between Bosnian Muslims and Croats during the war of the early 1990s. I found a divided city where ordinary life proceeded against a visually evocative, sometimes surreal backdrop of shattered buildings and shell-pocked facades.
