Alternative Fuel Panel
While we expend some form of fuel every day, the fuel sources are limited—and running low. What possible alternative fuel sources are available? What is being done to realize these possibilities?
Two UBC faculty members present their current research works on alternative fuel. Dean Jack Sadler presents how plant biomass can be converted into ethanol via bioconversion. Assistant Professor Naoko Ellis features her research work on how locally obtained waste and non-food grade cooking oil can turn into biodiesel through chemical reaction.
